The Life of the Modern Day Cartoon: The Hub Edition

Ahh, the Hub. You had such promise when you launched. You launched in the wake of Discovery Kids shutting down, and you had a great lineup of shows. Generation 1 Transformers, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Goosebumps, all debuted on the channel at launch. They also had promising original programming like R.L. Stine’s The Witching Hour, Dan VS), and Family Game Night. And then the Bronies came. The following reasons are the major reasons why I have an ongoing boycott of this cesspool of utter shit.(source: somethingawful.com)

The channel, from launch until now, has changed rather dramatically. Hasbro has used it as a medium to put every license it owns into its own shitty show. For instance, there’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. What the literal FUCK is this?! I have never seen such a culture switch like the fans of this show. There are grown ass men who follow this show, and love this show. Which is fine, I guess. It’s not my thing. However, there are people who take it to the tenth degree, who dress up as the ponies from this show. These people, as a whole, are called Bronies. They are the only people I would have less respect than a Juggalo.

These people push Hasbro’s marketing bullshit (I call it this, because Hasbro pushes this crap on the demographic) on people who fucking despise this show. And these people get all forms of arrogant and douchebaggery when they talk about this, saying this is the best show on TV. The writing sucks, the animation sucks, and let me tell you, the fact that Tara Strong lends her talent to this show does not save this decrepit cesspit of maladjusted morons.

Before I continue, I do have friends that are Bronies. So, there are some who keep their Brony in check to just fandom. It’s when the fandom becomes zealous fandom that things get disgusting. So, I conclude this with: Fuck this show, it’s terrible.
