‘SOUTH PARK: THE STICK OF TRUTH’ NEEDS 2 MILLION OF YOU TO BUY THE GAME SO THQ CAN BREAK EVEN

Not sure if you knew this, but THQ has recently sold off its license to create video games based off of the UFC brand to that of EA Sports. The reason they did this is because after taking into account production costs and what not the recently released UFC Undisputed 3 was a disappointment. So much so, that THQ has decided to stop supporting the game for any bug fixes and updates due via download and instead shut down the studio that made the game altogether.

What does that have to do with anything? Well, THQ is also distributing South Park: The Stick Of Truth next March on PS3, XBOX 360, and PC and word is on the street that the Obsidian developed RPG needs to sell AT LEAST 2 million copies in order for the cost of the game to break even.  To help the cause, THQ has also announced that  South Park: The Stick of Truth will feature a bunch of DLC to hopefully grab more of your hard earned dollars as they announced at E3 that the first 3 DLC packs will be released on XBOX 360 first including the DLC pack “Mysterion Superhero”. The XBOX 360 version will also come with Kinect integration that will allow you to talk shit to Cartman and provide voice controls.

Take all this into account, I think THQ is in good shape for South Park: The Stick of Truth which is set to hit shelves March 5, 2013 and you can check out the trailer here.
