Shorts Review: Battlefield Friends “Stuck LAV”

It’s another week, and Noob is screwing up another vehicle. We’re running out of vehicles for him to screw up.

Spoilers!

Noob has gotten an LAV stuck on a center highway divider, and that’s Medic and Engineer find him as they hear his cries for help. Medic and Engineer want to get him out and on their way to Alpha, but Noob just wants his vehicle. Engineer tries a rocket launcher, to no avail. Medic, for some reason, tries his defibrillator to the same end. Noob then wants Recon to get to the LAV so he can put Jeep stuff on the vehicle. Recon tries the C4, but the LAV is still stuck. They all come to the conclusion that the only way to get the LAV unstuck is to hit it with a Jeep, but no one has one. That is, until a really old player in a rusty looking Jeep rams the LAV off the divider. Noob is free, and everyone goes on to Alpha. Well, everyone except Noob, because he’s stuck on another divider.

The vehicle controls on almost any vehicle in Battlefield is dreadful. The vehicles are more forgiving to an extent, but anything heavier than a Jeep just sucks to drive. Before you ask, yes, I have gotten stuck on a divider of some sort. But poor Noob gets the shit end in every vehicle.

The animation felt different this week. There wasn’t a lot going on, considering the perspective was mostly from the shoulders up. But what was there was really close up. The engineer from the other squad had bad bags under his eyes, while the LAV and Jeep were really detailed. This episode was more detailed than normal, because there wasn’t a lot in the background. I enjoyed this episode a lot better than I expected it to be. The closeups didn’t hinder anything this episode, at all.
