REVIEW:FAMILY GUY “Leggo My Meg-O”

With syrup!

Spoilers Below

Meg and Ruth set off to Paris, France to escape the rigors of high school for a while. Unfortunately, they both get kidnapped and taken for ransom which calls to action the only two guys crazy enough to try and get her back…Brian and Stewie! Once there they actually find one of the guys that took Meg but he gets hit by a bus making him violently unavailable for questioning. However, they were able to grab the guy’s velcro wallet and mae it over the the hideout that Meg was at.After a round of beatings courtesy of Stewie, they come to learn that Meg is being auctioned off as a sex slave but not quite exactly at the sex slave price.

Eventually, the guys get caught and locked up in the basement after Brian makes a bid he can’t pay up on but fortunately are able to escape after killing the guard. After which, they catch up to a yacht that Meg is getting ready to board as evidently she was bid on by an Indian prince that promises a lifetime of lavish arrangements and attention that Meg can only dream of getting. Unfortunately for her, Stewie shows up and kills her dream guy and gets teleported back to Quahog with no real recollection of the events that transpired.

So, I was having trouble figuring out if this week’s episode was really a spoof or not and instead would more classify it as Family Guy meets Taken. Reason being that for one, no one was really teasing the fact that this episode was a spoof because they weren’t really making fun of the movie in anyway. Instead, it looks as though the writers were clearly inspired by the Liam Neeson action thriller and really mashed it up with a Brian & Stewie episode. And along the journey we get a few cutaways but really this week’s episode was probably more fun with the action sequences than anything else which is good cuz let’s face it…this was a Meg episode.
