Review: The Shivering Truth “Beast of Both Worlds”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
A kid finds a glowing orb and brings it back to his father but has second thoughts and decides to set it free. His reward was developing a Love Detector bot that helps singles find love. It works in the form of a postal worker name Sheila who tries her best to show her love for some guy only it takes a while. When the two get married, the machine knows the truth, but Sheila doesn’t seem to mind and opts to throw away the machine. Another Love Detector shows up and a battle ensues between the two robots which inspires a new form of bot-fighting that people can gamble on.
When the creator of the Love Detector finds out, his life takes an unfortunate turn for the worst and he becomes a troublemaker. His creation turns on his human makers.
Our Take
By far Adult Swim’s most ambitious series, it’s true Netflix killer, The Shivering Truth. The series picks up right where it left off with sordid tales of depression, love, and robots threatening to take us out. Aside from Duke Johnson-produced anything, Shadowmachine does some of the most technical proficient stop-motion animation in the business, and this show proves it.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
