This ain’t no motherf**kin’ stick up just pick up the stick up And watch it roll real close rolling out of my hand ’til

Spoilers Below

Morty wants to take Jessica to the school dance, but is shut DOWN by a dude named Brad.  Jerry tries to console his only reason for being married in the first place, but Rick thinks he should use science to get the love of his life. Morty ends up begging his Grandpa to help him do just that by making some sort of a juice that will coerce whomever is wearing it to love Morty like no one else could. Morty decides to try it out at the dance and spills some of the love juice all over Jessica. Unfortunately, she has the flu and this causes a side effect where whenever Jessica coughs on the other students, THEY start to fall for Morty, too. Soon the germs get into the school’s ventilation and punch, but when Rick hears about the flu spreading activities at the dance he has to jet to the dance and save Morty from a stampeding rush of students and faculty all of whom wanna rape Morty. Rick and Morty get into their ship and take off, but not before Rick douses the crowds with a gas that turns them into praying mantis’. The whole world is infected with this virus so Rick decides to try a new antidote which again turns everyone into monsters.

After talking to Rick, Jerry doesn’t know if Beth is really in love with him and soon ponders if his wife is cheating on him. Jerry takes off, but soon he gets run down by a bunch of mantis’ and he has to grab a shotgun and go ape-shit on them. Back at the hospital, we see Beth get attacked by her co-worker after coming in contact with Rick’s air borne toxic event. Thankfully, Jerry shows up with a crow bar and caves in this dude’s head. Jerry and Beth take off in a truck and mow down monsters left and right, they catch up with Summer and save her and come to the conclusion that all of this shit was caused by Rick. That said, everyone’s happy except for RIck and Morty whom are mutated.

The only thing Rick and Morty can do is transport into a different reality and end up burying themselves…literally. That said, Jerry and Beth seem to be a miserable couple again, and Summer is back to being a bitch.

Dimension jumping is a Family Guy trademark, but Rick and Morty doesn’t abuse it or turn it into a gag. Similar to how Looper re-imagined time travel in film, Justin Roiland re-imagined dimension travels. Rick and Morty, similar to shows like Regular Show and Lucas Bros., usually ‘ground’ an episode to the point where even if it’s a show where you expect fantastic and truly out there (see what I did there, Justin?) results, they always start off with simple concepts which is very much a Steven Spielberg trademark. Again, Rick and Morty reclaims the crown of designing some of the best animated monsters I’ve ever seen and it’s slowly becoming the show’s best trademark, but Rick is challenging Archer EVERY Monday Night in the ‘one-liners’ department.

Now re-read this review…Spielberg, Looper, two shows, and Archer. Yep, Rick and Morty is a series that has a little something for everyone. It’s just too bad that the scheduling of episodes has been a pain in the ass ever since this show hit right before Christmas. Let’s hope we can fix that.
