Review: Regular Show “Pam I Am”
We are Pam.
Spoilers Below
Benson meets a cute staff member of Langer’s research team named Pam and the two seem to really hit it off. When Pam wishes to have real food again instead of the company standardized crap, Benson sets off on a mission to not only get some Wing Kingdom, but somehow break into the dome within-a-dome and be able to give said wings to Pam. After some Mission Impossible-esque trickery, Benson’s able to get in and have lunch with Pam. Unfortunately, an anti-gravity switch goes off and before you know it, we’ve got a re-enactment of Grandpa and Charlie in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory where the new couple nearly get killed, but are able to burp their way down…or do they? Langer catches the two in the act, and enacts a new policy of no dating among the test subjects and researchers, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Pam and Benson.
Our Take
There was a time when Regular Show wrote some of the most efficient romantic comedy. For some reason, the Eileen/Rigby relationship never quite had the spark of the Mordecai/CJ/Margaret one with the latter being far more compelling. This episode sets up a similar type of arc, and it was excellent. I loved the ode to Willy Wonka, I loved the montage with The Cure, and I think this could be an arc that has a lot of exciting elements to it, if not, a more impressive danger. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what comes from this.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
