Review: Harmonquest “Ivory Quay”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
On this week’s episode of Harmonquest, we see Beor, Lymric, Boneweevil, and new friend Donna head on over to a Barbarian Village located in the Ivory Quay. After finagling their way in over the border walls we learn that barbarians hold a treasure rife with treasures and a horrid Beast of Beginning underneath. An invisible man shows up to start a fight just in time for the beast to awaken and send our travelers through a portal leading to…?
Our Take
Tawny Newsome is an upcoming voice star for Star Trek: Lower Decks, and if this is the type of silliness we’re gonna see out of her in the upcoming new series then we’re in for a great show on CBS All Access come 2021. In the meantime, I hope many more visits in Harmonquest, are coming although I do think this week’s tale lacked in the originality department and that’s on Spencer. The portal climax gives me hope that something a bit more fun is on the horizon. Dominic Polcino does an excellent job of not only directing the series but also treating Harmonquest like he did when he worked on The Simpsons. Background gags galore during the course of the series and the silly giggles from Tawny and Beor are enough for me to grasp on to as my entertainment for the duration of the show.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
