Review: Gary And His Demons “Gary Goes Home”
We’re coming home.
Overview (Spoilers Below)
This week’s episode sees Gary visit his parents for dinner along with his dick head of a brother, Steve. In fact, the whole dichotomy of the episode isn’t completely unlike Step Brothers when “Derek” comes to visit his and new stepfamily for dinner. Only, in this case, Gary has to raise and kill a demon to prove his worth to his parents especially when compared to his brother who actually is caught and raped (?) by the aforementioned demon. Gary makes the save and we learn that his parents really do appreciate Gary after all.
Our Take
While “Gary Goes Home” certainly was a little less heavy and way more cliche this time around in both premise and plot, we still got a pretty good episode. We didn’t get much in terms of moving forward some of the arcs we were introduced to last week, and with a series that is officially half-way through it’s first run, I was expecting a bit more of a “push” to the climax of the show’s first season, but I’m not sure we got that tonight.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
