Production on Spongebob Squarepants Season 10 is officially underway
Spongebob Squarepants creative director confirmed last week that production on season 10 is officially underway. Season 9 has been showing up as of late as part of Nick’s Friday Night lineup that doesn’t seem to be coming back any time soon, but it has taken something to the tune of three years or so just to see one completed season. Usually it takes this show 1 to 2 years to air a completed season, but not for season 9.
Show creator Stephen Hillenburg is said to be returning to the series in some capacity, and episodes for the tenth season of Spongebob Squarepants should premiere in 2065.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
