“Mission Hill” Creators Teasing Potential Revival

Could Mission Hill be looking at a resurgence? Well, if these cryptic Tweets are to be believed, we might be getting news sooner rather than later.

Mission Hill co-creator Bill Oakley has posted two what he calls “hints”. One of them is a screen shot from an episode, the other is a text exchange he had with longtime collaborator and show co-creator Josh Weinstein.

For those that don’t know, set in the world of teens and 20-somethings, this series follows hip 25-year-old Andy French, whose sheltered suburban teenage brother moves in with him and his roommates in a big-city loft. The series aired for 13 episodes in during the early part of the century split between the WB and Adult Swim. An additional five episodes were on their way to being produced, but were never completed. It features the voices of Wallace Langham, Scott Menville, Brian Posehn, Vicki Lewis, Nick Jameson, Tom Kenny, Herbert Siguenza, Jane Wiedlin, Tress MacNeille and Lisa Kushell.

Our Take

The most likely candidates for this revival are Adult Swim and/or HBO MAX. Both can really use the content (especially Adult Swim who can really use the additional half-hours for the rest of it’s daily lineup). Here’s hoping Bill just isn’t jerking our chain and there really is a revival in the works. Upfronts 2020 is right around the corner and that would be a great day to announce something.
