Jamie Foxx in talks to board ‘Happytime Murders’

According to Deadline.com, Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) is in talks to star in the live-action/puppet R-rated comedy known as The Happytime Murders.

For those that don’t recall, the STX Entertainment/Henson Alternative joint takes place in a world where puppets and humans live together, but the puppets are viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an 1980s kids TV show gets murdered one by one, a disgraced detective-turned-private eye puppet takes on the case.”

With the recent surge in R-rated animated features being announced and made, projects like this could be attracting the A-list level talent that could help take the genre to new heights. Hopefully this deal goes through because Jamie’s funny as hell along with being a fantastic dramatic actor.
