Goku of “Dragon Ball” Fame Is now A 2020 Tokyo Olympics Ambassador
Akira Toriyama must be very proud right now.
In a shocking piece of news, the Tokyo Olympics committee has made a bizarre decision and announced that that Goku from the iconic Dragonball franchise will be an ambassador of the event.
The Olympics 2020 will also have other Japanese pop culture icons such as: Nintendo’s Mario, Naruto, Sailor Moon, One Piece‘s Monkey D. Luffy, Petty Cure, Astroboy, Shin Chan, and Jibanyan from the blatant Pokemon-Clone Series “Yo-Kai Watch”.
Damn! I’m fully aware of how Japan treats its own fictional characters with a degree of respect since most of the Dragonball anime & films are even funded by the Japanese government.
Tokyo was announced as the host in 2013 and the games are scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 9 2020.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
