GAMES ANNOUNCEMENT – Phineas & Ferb – Quest For Cool Stuff

Recently Phineas & Ferb has been really pushing their IP further then they have ever before. DisneyChannel.com has begun to feature Perry-themed activities, including a new hidden object game called “Find Perry,” and the site also provided an interactive map that geographically tracked the “Perry the Platy-bus” tour as it reached select cities across the US in the summer of 2012. The tour let fans use augmented reality to interact with Phineas and Ferb characters, and if fans spotted Perry in their city, they can upload pictures that could be featured on air and online. Phineas & Ferb also had a few games released thanks to their popularity like Disney Mobile Game’s Where’s My Perry? An iOS game that had gameplay inspiration from the hugely successful Where’s My Water app.

But now Majesco Entertainment and Disney Interactive have announced that a new game, based on the top-rated Emmy Award-winning hit series Phineas and Ferb is headed for consoles, and handheld, and this time the inventive duo is on a Quest for Cool Stuff. The game will follow Phineas & Ferb as they travel in their newest invention the A.T.T. (All-Terrain Transformation) to find the coolest stuff they can find to display in their backyard Museum of Cool. But in seems that Dr. Doofensmirtz is readying to unleash his latest creation, the “get-rid-of-cool-stuff-inator” on the Tri-State Area. No idea how the story will progress but based on the screenshots released, the day will be saved through a lot of platforming and customizing the boys’ A.T.T.

The story will follow a multi-episode storyline which, like the show, will have the intertwining stories of the boys’ and their friends on their wacky adventure to find cool stuff like the lost Atlantis hieroglyph, floating baby head, Meap’s Mustache, caveman’s first stone wheel, and much more, and Agent P in more stealth focused gameplay as he sneaks and stops the evil Dr. Doofensmirtz.

Players will play as Phineas, Ferb or Perry/Agent P as they interact with characters from the show including Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Candace, Isabella, Buford, Baljeet, and the O.W.C.A. (Organization Without a Cool Acronym) in two different game modes. Exploration Mode with Phineas & Ferb searching for cool artifacts while also building and upgrading the A.T.T with new parts like pinchers, drills, rocket boosters and headlights that will be needed to access new areas. And Action Mode with Perry the Platypus sneaking through Dr. D’s lab to stop his “-Inators,” while avoiding Dr. Doof’s nasty lab traps; collapsing floors, laser beams and falling boulders.

PLUS you will be able to collect sprockets then use them to buy spare parts for the A.T.T. hmm…Last time I checked I didn’t think having COINS in your game was a marketable bullet point but everything else still sounds like fun.So expect Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff on Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, Nintendo DS, 3DS, and on mobile device in August of this year.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
