Exclusive: Rob Lowe tells us about ”Moonbeam City”

Recently, Rob Lowe stopped by Reddit to do an AMA, so I decided to take this opportunity to personally ask him about his new animated series coming to Comedy Central called Moonbeam City.  Rob Lowe acts as the star for Moonbeam City in his role as both the executive producer and that of ”Dazzle Novak”. Rob tells us more about the setting for the new series as well as his take on ”Dazzle”:

Moonbeam City is a new cartoon that I am starring in for Comedy Central that probably won’t be on the air until very early next year, and it is hilarious, wildly politically incorrect, and very very very wrong. It takes place in Moonbeam City, America’s most swinging and dangerous city in 1985, and I am the coolest, most bitchin’ top cop, who probably causes more crimes than he actually solves. And (it stars) Will Forte, Kate Mara, and Elizabeth Banks. So it’s really too bad we couldn’t find anybody good.

So we learned a few things from this excerpt which is the most we’ve learned since the series was picked up for 10 episodes earlier this year on Comedy Central. For starters, we now know Moonbeam City takes place in 1985 AND that the series premiers tentatively early next year. Titmouse Animation is producing Moonbeam City, and Scott Gairdner (Conan, Funny or Die Presents) will be writing the pilot alongside Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz.
