@EvaLongoria talks with ‘The Star’ about her inspiration on Mother Up!

Recently, Eva Longoria had a chance to sit down and talk to the The Toronto Star about her upcoming role as ‘Rudi’  in the new animated series Mother Up! set to air this Fall on Hulu. Jump!

Mother Up! is a new animated series coming this Fall on Hulu and it features Eva Longoria as a single mom with two kids adjusting to a life in suburbia after living and working in Manhattan as a music exec (this is what happens when you don’t buy music). Eva recently had a chance to talk to the Toronto Star whom talked about her new role as ‘Rudi’. She had this to say during the interview about her wanting to take the lead part in the new series:

“I’m a fan of all these shows like Family Guy or American Dad, but it all centres around the women being the mom or the wife or the girlfriend,” said the American actress in an interview. “I didn’t see a female point of view.”

She’s gotta point there. Never has there been an animated series with just a mom and her kids. That said, we did have the series Good Vibes on MTV which had a single mom who moved to LA with her son, but I think that show was probably a bigger focus on teen life versus what Eva is doing with Mother Up!  Also, we get the added bonus of ‘Rudi’ one time working as a business exec in the City so she will certainly have a bit more spunk and attitude to which Eva concurs:

“She is incredibly funny and inappropriate and completely fun to do; she uses her business skills and applies them to parenting, which doesn’t work at all,” says Longoria.

You can check out the rest of the article here that goes on to talk about how Rogers Media is working with the new animated property, but suffice it to say if this show doesn’t succeed it isn’t because of Eva. She has happily shown up at Upfronts and posted up pics of her new animated character so she is definitely doing the upcoming series justice in the promotional department. As such, I am looking forward to seeing what she can bring and from the sounds of it, the show should be a breath of fresh air to the animated comedy world.
