English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation: “The Birth of My Little Sister, the Maid

Overview: Rudeus (Madeleine Morris, Ben Phillips) meets the third prince, Zanoba Shirone (Ian Sinclair), who helps him escape from his magic prison, while Ruijerd (Christopher Wehkamp) and Eris (Lindsay Seidel) also come to his aid.

Our Take: If Pax left a bad taste in your mouth for his disgusting and depraved personality, then I can confidently say that Shirone’s third prince, Zanoba Shirone…will leave a very similar one, but in an entirely different way.

Ian Sinclair brings the tall prince of Zanoba to life with notably over-the-top, zany energy that is cemented by his scrutinizing and worship of the details pertaining to every nook and cranny of Roxy’s physique portrayed on her figure. So much so that it will, ironically and funnily enough, both lower and elevate your opinion of Rudeus and his fine craftsmanship as well as his vast knowledge pertaining to her master’s smallest and most discreet bodily features, respectively. It makes their chemistry that of creepy little kindred spirits. Even more so scary is how deadly wicked Zanoba is that is equal to his freakish supernatural physical strength that he demonstrates with monstrous force when forcing his little brother Pax into releasing Rudeus, after he learned Roxy was understandably repulsed by Pax’s nature and left Shirone.

After Ruijerd rescues the families held hostage by Pax, including Lilia, Rudeus reunites with her and Aisha together for what is a short but sweet reunion. Lilia’s joyfulness at seeing Rudeus unchanging nature with Rudeus happy for her well-being is a heartwarming scene. It’s capped off with Rudy’s heartfelt goodbye to his little sister Aisha in him trying to help her understand the significance behind a memento in how it connects us to people no matter where they are, both the necklace he gives to her and his sacred panties. Of course, Aisha, smart as a whip,  knew who Rudeus was from the beginning, showing how she came to truly understand who he was through his admirable actions and motivations. With Zanoba banished for helping the young Greyrat and Aisha and Lilia temporarily parting ways with Rudeus, so too ends incredible character introductions as well as a down-to-earth reuniting of siblings.
