“Another Visit, a Mermaid, a Misunderstanding, and Zombies”

In order to find out what’s causing it, Cayna summons a flying fish and dives into the well. When she gets down there, she discovers a massive underground cavern with an unexpected reveal…

Our Take

For the first episode the village has a rough encounter with a Kaiju-sized Penguin creature, But it was kinda nice seeing Cayna encounter those other players while also learning a tiny bit more about what happened to Leadale. The interactions between the players really feel like they’re in a game, and not just in a random other world.

As for the other episode, It works in transitioning from one part of a story to another but still has fun with itself along the way. Visiting Cayna’s favorite rural village, finding a strange discovery in their water supply, and fraternizing with the troops (and the troop’s leader especially) and as the episode title implies encountering a Zombie with a subtle “Silent Hill” reference thrown in.

Overall, It was nice that Cayna is actually going back to see those she said she’d visit again, feel like most shows don’t touch on that too often. and I hope we end up learning more about what happened to the game world. As for the other one, Compared to the two players she met recently, It seems like this zombie town could be the work of another player, but I wonder if this person is aware that Leadale isn’t a game anymore. Frankly, the other main problem I don’t like about the Canya so far as a character is how she just solves her 99% of problems with sheer force of power. You’d think she would struggle a bit more with that penguin monster or her first Zombie, but with 3 episodes left, let’s see how that plays out…
