English Dub Review: Dragon Ball Super “Earth! Gohan! Both on the Ropes! Hurry and Get Here Goku!”

Piccolo is dead after sacrificing himself against a revived Frieza for Gohan but you wouldn’t know it with Beerus and Whis talking about food and sundaes. That said, Whis learns all about what happened with Piccolo which means Goku and Vegeta have to fight Frieza. Goku attempts instant transmission, but can’t because Beerus’ planet is too far away from Earth so he resorts to locating Gohan and performing his instant transmission by way of a power boost. Gohan nearly dies and Ginyu is killed by Vegeta. Frieza turns into a crazy-strong form and after a lot of trash talk, all of Frieza’s minions are destroyed and we get set for a battle.

Our Take

Well, Frieza’s insane, and that’s the majority of what this week’s episode is about, but we had some funny dialogue combined with a constant yearning for food that helped cushion us with laughs until we got to the serious stuff which was actually pretty badass. The upcoming battle should be worth the two-week wait, who do you got your money on?
