Cover Reveal: DC x Rooster Teeth Comic Series Inspired By RWBY & gen: Lock

Just announced from RTX.

Acclaimed writer Marguerite Bennett (BATWOMAN, DC BOMBSHELLS) and artists Mirka Andolfo (DC BOMBSHELLS, HEX WIVES, WONDER WOMAN) and Arif Prianto (DEATHSTROKE) will delve into the world of RWBY in the new comic.  A global anime phenomenon, RWBY takes place in a world filled with horrific monsters bent on death and destruction, where humanity’s hope lies with powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses in training whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of their school, Beacon Academy.

The RWBY comics are set to launch digitally in late August, while the gen: LOCK comics will launch in September. The two series will alternate weekly, with two new digital chapters released every month that will later be collected as monthly print issues. DC Publisher and renowned comic artist Jim Lee will also create a special variant cover for both RWBY and gen: LOCK #1 print issues.

gen: LOCK’s war-torn world will be explored in comic form by co-writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (GREEN ARROW, NIGHTWING, GOTHAM CITY GARAGE), along with artist Carlo Barbieri (GREEN LANTERNS, ADVENTURES OF SUPER SONS). The gen: LOCK story revolves around a diverse team of young pilots, recruited by Earth’s last free society to control the next generation of giant, weaponized robot bodies known as mecha. These daring recruits will find, however, that their newfound abilities come at no small cost. The comic will expand on the world created in the highly popular gen: LOCK mecha-anime style series starring Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, Kōichi Yamadera, Golshifteh Farahani, Asia Kate Dillon, and David Tennant.
