“Bob’s Burgers” Creator Plans To Change Voice Role For Minor Character Following Suit With “Central Park” Casting Change

Where’s the line? Some fans complain about John Roberts and Dan Mintz voicing female characters. Following yesterday’s announcement that his co-created series Central Park will be undergoing a casting change before the show’s second season is produced, Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard had subsequently asked about a number of other characters in his more popular series currently airing on FOX. One of which was the voice of ‘Marshmallow’, currently voiced by David Herman, Loren when asked whether or not he’s going to change that character’s voice says, “On It”.

For those that don’t know, marshmallow is a transgender prostitute that first appeared in “Sheesh! Cab, Bob?” She is dark-skinned and is usually seen in a white monokini.

The series is currently in production for an 11th season and has a feature-length film coming out next year, it will be interesting to see how fast Loren makes this change, as well as other virtue signal changes like the aforementioned roles of “Tina” and “Linda” being voiced by men.

Synopsis:

The series follows BOB (H. Jon Benjamin) and his ever-quirky family who together run the restaurant Bob’s Burgers.

In addition to its 2019 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Animated Program, the series has been nominated in the same category in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, having won the award twice, its first Emmy Award in 2014 and in 2017. The series also was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award and an Annie Award this year.

BOB’S BURGERS is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created and is executive-produced by Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive.
