At Long Last, ‘Rick and Morty’ Couch Gag to Air Before This Week’s ‘Simpsons’ Episode

We told you about it following the New York Comic-Con 2014 Rick and Morty press interviews, and heard whispers a couple months ago via Simpsons producer Al Jean’s Twitter account, and it is finally here: The Simpsons will air their Rick and Morty couch gag this Sunday, May 17th.

If you’re a member of the all-too-populous group of people asking, “What is Rick and Morty?” then this announcement and event is directly squarely at you.

Rick and Morty is the brainchild of Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Fish Hooks) and it’s not just the best cartoon currently on television, but possibly the best program on TV right now. (Would The Simpsons showcase any less in a coveted couch gag?) It features mad scientist Rick and his reluctant grandson sidekick Morty as they jump across time & space getting into all sorts of far-out shenanigans involving weird inventions, aliens, and other creatures.

So whether you’re already a hardcore fan, or a mind fresh for the tainting, tune in to The Simpsons this Sunday on FOX, and check out Rick and Morty when it returns to Adult Swim for season two this summer.
