Netflix boss says he wants WAY more content
Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos recently stopped by a UBS Communications Conference where he talked about the vision of Netflix and where he sees the most popular streaming service going and the most interesting part of the conversation that I read from it before the website wanted me to fill out some info to read the rest of it was this excerpt.
I think that we can expand on our original programming, your thought frame from where we are today to probably as many as 20 original series. So the idea of launching original series or original season of content every two half weeks or so kind of getting into a regular drumbeat with consumer expectation around originals.
So do NOT be surprised if this means more animated shows on the way. We’ve already got BoJack Horseman coming back for a season two and F is for Family has been announced. However, I’m wondering if Netflix plans to renew animated shows in the 12 episode-variety akin to BoJack or if we are getting six episodes like F is for Family. Either way, I think cartoons are going to be a BIG part of this company’s future due to the fact that they are a GREAT way to expand into international markets and the results of that are starting to show with Netflix usually putting BoJack on as available original series’ to such markets as the UK, France, and others.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
