‘Otto Know Better’

Randy and Andy are fighting over the latest games, but their arcade shuts down anyway so it’s a moot point. Meanwhile, McFist punches the daylights out of Otto which causes Viceroy to go on strike until his little buddy comes back. Turns out, Otto ends up with Randy who discovers that Otto has a brand-new game on his hard drive! Unfortunately, Randy acts like a selfish asshole leading Andy to go to the juice bar. At the same juice bar, McFist tries to help Viceroy forget about Otto, but nothing works. As a result, Viceroy decides to send an army of robots to destroy the city. Randy decides to pull himself from his game and save the town and Otto manages to escape. Randy destroys all of the robots and returns Otto to his rightful owner. To celebrate, Andy and Randy head to the arcade, bit it closes down due to plumbing issues.

I hope Disney XD can settle on one time-slot because Randy Cunningham continues to be one of the better shows. The first half of our episode was pretty hilarious in that we get to see the pros and cons of video game addiction. Moreover, I love the fact that the producers decided to stick with having the kids playing games like WE did in the old days like with arcade machines and whatnot. For me, it hearkens back to a time when if you wanted to play video games, you still had to leave the house. Nowadays, console gamers just kind of sit in the house and try their best to be anti-social (oh yea, and chatting with your friends online, doesn’t count). The fight scenes for this episode were pretty oft-kilter too, with Randy slashing dashing all over the place like….well..a ninja.

Brolateral Damage

We cut in to Randy running away from a mechanized T-Rex being driven by McFist and Viceroy. Randy decides to infiltrate McFist’s lair by going undercover so he becomes friends with Bash and heads on over to spy on his nemesis. He finds out about a ”BBD” to which he finds out was really a celebration featuring Bash getting a present. Randy crashes the party leading to Bash getting all depressed which causes the sorcerer to send a monster that Randy destroys and goes back to being Andy’s friend.

Unfortunately, the second half episode wasn’t as strong as the first one. I was starting to have fun with the T-Rex deal, but really it seems like the producers didn’t put a lot of time into the plot and instead just gave us a mish-mash of threads that just didn’t quite fit.
