We play around with Comedy Central’s new ”Ugly Americans” app
Not only did Comedy Central debut a new digital series today, but they also released a brand-new app inspired by the brilliant Ugly Americans.
For those that don’t know, Ugly Americans was a series on Comedy Central that went for two seasons starring Mark Lilly. Mark is a social worker in an alternate realty take on NYC in which is clients entail ghouls and goblins of all varieties. Most fans of the series would agree that the show was good enough for a third season, but for now this app will have to do.
And it’s a good one! Essentially, the app is an interactive comic book featuring all of your favorite Ugly Americans characters. You tap through conversations and can even tap on different conversation choices which lead to different results ala Heavy Rain. The app is free and available for download on both Android and iTunes and you can watch a promo here to get an idea of what we’re talking about.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
