Shorts Review: Blackford Manor
Cheery young maid, Josette, takes a job at creepy Blackford Manor out of desperation but hangs around for the intrigue. Check out the latest Cartoon Hangover Summer Short below.
Blackford Manor has some great pedigree behind it. Created, directed, and storyboarded by Jiwook Kim, who has worked on the Simpsons movie and Futurama, the short is co-written by ex Adventure Time producer, Patrick McHale.
A story of suspicion and mystery, Blackwood Manor is the least Cartoon Hangover-ish short, style wise, to come out this year, but boy, is it stylish. The sets and backgrounds have real depth and intricacy and the character designs are grotesque and disturbing, each lumbering servant at the manor making coquettish Josette seem more vulnerable with every scene, even though she actually becomes more feisty.

Blackford Manor is an excellent spine-tingler from the colour palettes to the design, it is pitch perfect in every way, my only complaint is that at over six minutes, it wasn’t too short, but it seemed it. A definite nine.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
