Watch this trailer for a Rick and Morty movie starring the Meeseeks!

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the trailer for Meeseeks and Destroy – The Rick and Morty Movie. It’s brilliantly edited, and is a must-see for any fan of the show.

And let me be the first to say: it’s about time the Rick and Morty folks made a film; I mean, Season One ended almost a month ago. And I don’t know about you good folks, but to me this looks like it will be a great film. Clearly it combines drama (the music is a dead giveaway) with the usual zany antics we expect from Rick and Morty.

Unfortunately, the plot of the film appears to be very similar to the Meeseeks episode of the show, so if this proves to be true it will be quite disappointing. Still, it’s hard to ignore the building hype about this film, and all the rumors swirling around it, especially considering the fact that published details are few and far between. Go ahead, Google it – it’s like the movie doesn’t even exist.

A few bits of information have leaked through though. A source close to Rick and Morty disclosed to BubbleBlabber that veteran actor Tom Hanks was actually passed over for the role of head Meeseek. Additionally, Johnny Depp was, in fact, offered the very same role, but turned it down to star in Transcendence – a film that’s sure to pick up its share of awards. The Razzies are always right around the corner.
