Review: Golan the Insatiable “I Can Smell that Cheap Clone from Here”

Spoilers Below

It’s Easter and everyone’s coloring eggs, but Golan isn’t all that crazy about Jesus thinking he can resurrect himself a bunch faster than the ‘riz’ ever could. Golan creates a potion, but end s up shitting a cocoon. The cocoon opens up and we find out it’s another Golan who has to deal with the fact that he is indeed a monster even though he really doesn’t want to be. The real Golan hears about what’s going down and HE IS PISSED! The Golan we all know confronts the clone and we find out that everyone loves the spawn more than they like the real thing. The original Golan decides to out-nice his clone, but really they end up being friends over their common affinity for doing good. Dylan leaves real Golan in disgust leaving both Golans to get drunk as shit at the local Spaghetti Bar. We find out that the clone Golan really doesn’t like people and he actually wants to punish and enslave the entire Earth to which the original Golan wants in. Problem is the two Golans disagree over what to do with Dylan which causes the clone Golan to kill his ‘son’ in a fiery crash…or did he?

I love the fantastical elements of the show, and better yet I loved how Golan was doing his best Jesus impression and I wish we got more of that. Unfortunately, I don’t think the relationship between Dylan and Golan have been THAT established to warrant any kind of argument over her just yet. As noted in prior reviews, we haven’t really fleshed out who or what Golan is and why he is affectionate to Dylan in the first place, so any notion of wanting to feel sorry for Dylan goes out the window as a result. We really need that foundation to see this show soar, we just haven’t seen it yet.
