Review: Regular Show ‘Bank Shot’
Rigby may have banked his shots, but Regular Show’s writing is nothing but net. Read on to find out more!
Spoilers Below
Rigby’s the best at bank-shot basketball at this local restaurant and after destroying all of the park employees another patron named Banks shows up and wins a 12k bet after he buries one against the Rigs. Rigby decides to go double on the bet, but loses that too. The winners get pissed because Rigby doesn’t have the cash, so Rigby tries one more time to win the game and make a triple-bet that he can hit a bank shot. Thankfully, Mordecai helps convince the opposing team to give Rigby a few days to train to which he obliges. Rigbys bro Don is the only one left in his corner to help him get through his shooting slump. After a few days, it looks as though Don gets his brother Rigby SHARP for the main event and he’s gonna need it because Banks hits a killer shot. The rest of the competition ensues and both combatants do a rather stellar job at hitting their shots except for the final frame when Banks misses his shot and Rigby makes his. Problem is, due to Rigby’s missed shot from earlier he doesn’t get his hat back which was part of the bargain the first-time around. Suddenly, the God of Basketball shows up and tells Rigby that his missed shot from earlier did NOT miss and is in fact travelling around the world with the possibility that the ball may come back to make his basket. The bank shot indeed returns and it’s pretty awesome and yes Rigby gets his hat back.
Ok, let’s set one thing straight and that is there is only ONE GOD of Basketball and his name is Larry Bird. Despite the fact that we get another competition that ends with Mordecai and Rigby being the sure-fire bet as the winners, this week’s episode was more about the journey than the conclusion. Yea, I know we got a bunch of montages and I was getting fed up there either, but the one with the travelling basketball was one of the coolest fucking things I’ve ever seen Regular Show do. Also, Don is a laugh-riot. For starters he just looks plain ridiculous imposing even more of a human physique than his brother and his positive outlook on life was just so over-the-top sarcastic that I wanted to go out and buy shirts with his one-liners inscribed on the front. This week, Regular Show banks it in.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
