#GeekWeek: @MondoMedia – Deep Space 69 Season 2 Premiere – “Wormholy Matrimony”
One of the better shows on the Internet is back with a vengeance this week, as Deep Space 69 came back with Season 2. This season seems like it may have a few more twists and turns than last season, like **SPOILER ALERT** ……Jay gets married? Yes, through a bit of cunning deception, the Bonesmith himself was taken off the market. But will we actually see Denise in more episodes, or is this wedding nothing more than some Internet TV magic? I guess we’ll all have to tune in to find out.
I’d like to point out that the art might have actually stepped up just a smidgen. The movement on the ship-humping alien seems a bit more fluid than the movements we’ve seen on characters in season 1, which is a good step. Progression is key when it comes to animation. If you don’t grow, you get left behind. The comedy is still at the same level as in season 1, which is good because the laughs were what really endeared me to this show. Jay’s logic and one-liners are impeccable. “You gotta treat the pretty ones like they’re smart and the smart ones like they’re pretty.” Classic.
I guess the one thing that I felt was missing here was a bit of a cohesive story. Don’t get me wrong, the story flowed well, it just felt a bit choppy. Maybe another minute’s worth of animation and dialogue could have been used here? Who am I to judge? It was still a pretty decent start to what I hope is a far beyond decent season.
#GeekWeek Score – (7.5/10)
(@chefrichBB) really hopes he gets to be a spaceship humping alien in his next life.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
