Review: The Cleveland Show ‘Crazy Train’
Spoilers Below
Cleveland has never really had the strongest relationship with his dad. That is until they work on their first car together and Cleveland does a great job helping. This leads to Freight calling up his son to invite him out to the junkyard and then to a big low-rider convention. Eventually, Freight goes nuts and this causes Cleveland to rush over with a clearly worried Cookie. After Cleveland saves him, Freight shows more affection towards his son which has the ladies concerned because Cleveland doesn’t get the fact that his dad is clearly messed up and that’s why he is acting so nice. Freight gets sent to the hospital for some tests where the Dr. tells the family that Mr. Train is on too many meds and he has to be weened off to go back to normal. Cleveland wants to keep an eye on him for the time being so that they can spend much needed time together. As expected the drugs wear off and Freight Train goes back to belittling Cleveland whenever he can and even worse heads to the low-rider convention without his son. Cleveland decides to show up low-riding anyway and he does so in style! So much so that Cleveland enters the car in to the contest, but not before the car beats the shit out of Cleveland so bad that even Freight Train comes to his aid. Freight drags Cleveland into his low-rider and rushes his boy to the hospital and the two really do look out for each other.
Meanwhile, Rallo and Junior get their hands on a used cherry picking truck that Junior doesn’t want to give back because they use it to help people around town. From reuniting frisbees and teddy bears with kids all over to helping snoopy neighbors, Rallo and Junior soon become heroes all the while keeping their truck under wraps. Soon, the construction workers that Rallo and Junior come knocking on the door looking for their piece of machinery, but the boys take off down the road. This leads to a construction vehicle car chase that ends up in a sandbox with protesting children coming to the aid of Junior and Rallo. The picker goes to the kids, but after one jumps the boys run off.
This episode was a lot better than the finale in that it featured some wildly original story lines that I think came too little too late. I think it was hysterical that Freight Train had to literally be crazy to enjoy being around Cleveland, and watching Rallo and Junior hi-jack a cherry picker to take part in a down town chase scene was maybe THE funniest Cleveland Show bit maybe ever produced. We will probably do our good byes when we do the Season Review next week, but I honestly think this show went the wrong way when it started bringing in a whole bunch of guest stars. With a staff that included Jason Sudeks, Bryan Cranston, and Craig Robinson, Cleveland Show had enough mustard to do it on their own and this week proved just that.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
