Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend Anime Feature Sets North American Theatrical Release for February 2027

Fans of the acclaimed supernatural romance series have cause to celebrate. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have officially announced that Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend—the feature film conclusion to Hajime Kamoshida’s beloved franchise—will hit North American theaters in February 2027.

Following its initial Japanese theatrical debut on October 16, 2026, the film is scheduled for an exclusive three-day theatrical engagement in the United States and Canada on February 21, 23, and 24, 2027. Screenings will be available in a brand-new English dub.

The Epic Conclusion to the Series

Based on the final volume of Hajime Kamoshida’s Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend serves as the culmination of the emotional journey that began with 2018’s hit TV anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.

Animation production was handled by celebrated studio CloverWorks, bringing the franchise’s signature mix of “Adolescence Syndrome” urban fantasy, psychological drama, and heartfelt romance to a grand finale.

The film’s soundtrack features key tracks performed by Tōko Kirishima, including the insert song “Turn the World Upside Down” and the emotional theme song “The Horizon Is My Old Wound: Finale” (Suihei-sen wa Boku no Furukizu finale).
