English Dub Review: Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun ” The Laws of the Netherworld Dictate That One Takes After Their Master / Even Among Those Who Are Close”
Overview
Jazz tries to deal with his familiar, and Lead teaches Asmodeus how to play video games.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, this installment focuses more on the side characters, with Jazz dealing with his troublesome familiar while Lead introduces Asmodeus to the world of video games. Rather than pushing the main storyline forward, the episode takes a more relaxed approach and highlights the everyday lives and personalities of those around Iruma.
While it was enjoyable seeing more character moments, especially with Azz getting the chance to loosen up and act more like a normal teenager around Iruma and his friends, the overall pacing felt slower compared to other episodes this season. The familiar segments were fun, and seeing Azz continue to grow beyond his usual serious and reserved personality was a definite highlight, but the lack of major plot progression made the episode feel a bit weaker.
Overall, this was a simple slice-of-life episode that gave the supporting cast some much-needed attention. Although it may not be the most exciting entry of the season, it still captures one of the strengths of the show by showing that the series is about more than just its main conflicts; it’s also about lighthearted stories, the friendships and experiences we build along the way.
