English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “Valentine’s and Girlfriend”

Overview:

Mini reports back with her findings on Chizuru, and Kazuya has hope again.

Our Take:

I don’t even know what to say anymore. Kazuya is such a dumbass, and you would think after all this time, he could at least have a normal conversation. Turns out that isn’t the case, and even Chizuru is having issues. I guess I should count my blessings that they at least had a conversation about their feelings. But man was it dumb… Chizuru asks Kazuya for more time because she’s never had feelings for someone and isn’t sure if these feelings she has are love.

How is it that this is a thing that children can figure out, but the college-age adults have no clue? Sure, kids don’t exactly know and need an adult to help them nail down specifics, but after that, most people know when they have feelings for someone. Chizuru is an aspiring actress and an attractive girl, so I’m sure she’s been hit on before, and I imagine she’s been in a relationship as well. Now that I think about it, that’s something we’ve never known before, but if she hasn’t, then that’s kind of hard to believe. Most of this series is hard to believe at this point, if I’m being honest.
