English Dub Review: Go For It, Nakamura-Kun!! “A New Discovery! A Study Session After School!! / Super Exciting! Love Bento Autograph Signing!!”
Overview
Nakamura studies at the library with Hirose and attends the signing event of his favorite author.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, this installment delivers another charming mix of awkward comedy and heartfelt character growth as Nakamura slowly becomes more involved in Hirose’s everyday life. The episode does a great job showing Hirose outside of school, making him feel more natural and multidimensional, while Nakamura starts realizing how little he actually knows about the person he admires. Their growing dynamic feels surprisingly genuine, with several subtle moments hinting that the interest between them may not be entirely one-sided.
The rest of the proceedings also shine through Nakamura’s interactions with others, especially as shared interests help him slowly come out of his shell. His passion for manga and the small moments of encouragement he receives throughout the episode add a lot of warmth without losing the series’ signature awkward humor. The balance between comedy, secondhand embarrassment, and sincere emotional beats feels especially strong here, while the anime-original material blends naturally with the rest of the adaptation.
Overall, this was one of the sweetest and most emotionally satisfying episodes so far. The slower pacing gives the friendships and interactions more room to breathe, while the humor remains consistently endearing rather than over-the-top. Between Nakamura gradually finding confidence, Hirose showing more attention toward him, and several touching moments centered around acceptance and connection, the episode leaves behind a very wholesome and uplifting feeling.
