English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “The Escape”
Overview:
Allen and Cecil have a long, dangerous road ahead of them. Reaching safety means facing more than just one threat.
Our Take(Spoilers):
Now I’m starting to wonder why Allen hid is abilities from everyone. Perhaps, hindsight is 20/20 and now that he’s established a lot of goodwill with the baron’s family it has become less of an issue. I was also fairly confused at his reward for saving Cecil. He was given over 600 gold coins and I thought he was trying to get his family and friends out of serfdom. Instead he basically paid for their taxes for the year which is nice but it was an odd choice to me.
How he rescued Cecil was interesting because he ran away for the most part until he got close to Cecil’s home. Once there they were tracked by not only Dagrah, the villain that’s after them but also the murdergalsh that Allen failed to kill. Say what you will about Allen but he’s not a failure for long, and he defeats the murdergalsh but that let Dagrah catch up to them.
Luckily, he had sent one of his birds ahead to ask for help. Zenof showed up to save the day and boy was it easy for him. He sliced Dagrah in half vertically and it was a sight to behold. Did that make everything slightly anticlimactic? Yes but I enjoyed it because I feel like that’s exactly how a fight like that would go.
This was the last episode of the season but there will be another season airing in July. I’m legitimately excited to see where this goes. Allen is following Cecil now as her bodyguard and will follow her to academy. Let’s hope it continues to get better now that everyone knows Allen’s secret.
