Zero’s Third Round: Zerocalcare and the Armadillo Return in ‘My Two Cents’ on Netflix
Italian graphic novelist Michele Rech, better known as Zerocalcare, is officially returning to Netflix this spring with his third animated project, My Two Cents (Due Spicci). Following the massive international success of Tear Along the Dotted Line (2021) and This World Can’t Tear Me Down (2023), this new 2D-animated series is set to premiere globally on May 27, 2026 premiering with an English dubbed adaptation.
In My Two Cents, Zero and his long-time friend Cinghiale (Wild Boar) find themselves attempting to navigate the precarious world of small business. The duo is running a small neighborhood bar, but the venture is quickly sinking under the weight of financial pressures and personal friction.
True to his previous works, Zerocalcare serves as the creator, writer, and director. The production is handled by Movimenti Production (part of Banijay Kids & Family) in collaboration with BAO Publishing, the house that has published Zerocalcare’s graphic novels for over a decade. Zerocalcare himself voices the protagonist, Zero. Wayne Knight returns as the Armadillo, Zero’s orange, prehistoric-looking conscience who remains the show’s primary source of cynical wisdom and biting self-criticism.
Before the series drops on Netflix, Zerocalcare is scheduled to present My Two Cents at the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino (Turin International Book Fair) on May 16, 2026. During the panel “Zerocalcare – Due spicci e non solo,” the author will provide an exclusive look at the making of the series and discuss the evolution of his storytelling as he moves into this “different phase” of his characters’ lives.
For fans who have followed Zero through the existential dread of his 20s and the political tensions of his 30s, My Two Cents promises a poignant—and likely hilarious—look at the struggle to keep one’s head above water when the world demands you grow up.
