English Dub Review: Go For It, Nakamura-Kun!! “Gh-Ghost! School Ghost Stories?!”
Overview
The Drama/AV Club plans to make a film about the ghost story that the whole school is talking about.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Nakamura-kun!!, the series shifts into a chaotic supernatural comedy as Nakamura once again finds himself dragged into increasingly bizarre situations while simply trying to spend more time with Hirose. What begins as a harmless summer outing quickly spirals into occult club antics, horror movie filming, and late-night ghost stories around the school. The episode fully embraces its over-the-top energy, blending absurd humor, awkward romance, and spooky parody elements in a way that somehow still feels charmingly grounded in Nakamura’s shy attempts to connect with his crush.
The strongest aspect of the episode is how naturally the cast bounces off one another, especially with the introduction of another eccentric upperclassman whose dramatic personality perfectly clashes with Reiko’s chaos. Despite the supernatural setup, most of the fun comes from the character interactions and Nakamura gradually becoming more comfortable around Hirose. Their conversations feel noticeably more relaxed and playful now, which gives the episode a sweet undercurrent beneath all the ridiculous horror-comedy scenarios unfolding around them.
Overall, this was one of the funniest and most energetic episodes of the series so far, balancing absurd comedy with genuinely wholesome character progression. The horror-themed setting gave the cast plenty of opportunities for memorable interactions, while the growing chemistry between Nakamura and Hirose continues to be the emotional core that makes the show so enjoyable. Even with all the ghostly chaos and exaggerated humor, the episode never loses the awkward sincerity that gives the series its charm.
