English Dub Review: A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans “The Misanthrope and the Fruitless Love Fortune”
Overview:
It’s a new school year, and the advanced class has three new students, including a dragon in love with Rei.
Our Take(Spoilers):
We got a lot of revelations in this episode, and some of them could be problematic. One thing I was right about was the fact that Yuki and Mr. Hoshino are married. So Rei lost his love interest, but something happened immediately after that. He was told to meet with the director of the school, and my spidey sense started tingling. I assumed that we would be getting a new love interest for Rei, I think I was right… but also wrong.
Turns out that Haneda is the director, and she only uses her young girl form to sit in on classes and see how new teachers do. The fact that she has an adult form is something I suppose, and now Rei has a few new students. This includes a dragon girl who seems to be in love with him and wants to marry him. It feels like they’re setting it up for these girls to be older than they look, so Rei can have a love interest, and I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I think I like the new students so far.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
