English Dub Review: I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability “Invasion”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Battle breaks out through the city as Lloyd’s friends seek to defend against the unholy legion.
Our Take:
The holy showdown is starting to heat up, as hell has officially broken loose upon the city, thanks to the mysterious pastor. With Lloyd keeping the pastor occupied with his powerful magic, his allies are now stepping up to defend the town from the paster’s demonic army, which happens to include a dragon-like chimera. While the episode does showcase a little bit of Lloyd’s continued confrontation with the pastor, it only focuses on the Assassin’s Guild and the others protecting the bishops from the demon army throughout the duration. This includes Sylpha battling the traitorous Anastasia and Crow confronting a giant chimera shaped like a dragon. This continues the season’s attempt to include more screen time for the supporting characters and their skills, rather than relying on Lloyd’s overpowered magic, which already offers more than enough moments to welcome this change.
However, the battle that garnered the most focus in this episode is the battle of skill and strength between Tao and the six-armed chimera woman possessed by a spirit with a tragic past. Fortunately, it’s also the one that took full advantage of its animation style, with the stylization residing in Tao’s overwhelming chi, enhancing her strength to overcome her opponent. Additionally, the spirit’s flashback was utilized effectively by its old-school film aesthetic reminiscent of the silent film era in Japan. The only issue plaguing the episode was the rushed pacing of the separate battles, particularly Tao’s confrontation with the chimera woman, which lacked the emotional depth needed to convey Tao’s resilience. Besides that, “Invasion” continued the season’s holy showdown in a serviceable fashion, with its animation style having enough chi to compensate for its lack of narrative drive.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
