English Dub Review: My Dress-Up Darling “Capture Those Delicious Memories!”
Overview:
Marin discovers the terrifying truth that she’s gained weight and her cosplay no longer fits her.
Our Take:
Marin had a few people tell her that it seemed like she had gained some weight. First of all, that’s kind of rude, and while I understand she’s a model, it also feels like unrealistic weight expectations are being held. It’s not as huge a problem as it’s first presented, though, because it turns out one of her main problems is that she eats the breakfast Gojo prepares for her before bed. So if she spaces out her meals a bit more, she should be okay. I did love how Gojo offered to resize her cosplay outfits and didn’t make her feel bad.
It seems like Marin wasn’t the only one trying to trim some fat. I’ve been singing the praises of the animation in this episode for a while now, but this episode had some noticeable drop-off. It isn’t bad necessarily, but I could tell there were a few more corners cut in this episode. A lot more CGI was used, and it was especially noticeable in a scene where Gojo was taking pictures of Marin. Still a great-looking show, but I was a little disappointed.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
