Our Take
For years now we’ve seen Brian and Quagmire at each other’s throats one way or another and the results are always pretty hilarious. Have there been better examples of this trope in the past? Sure. But, this week’s Steve Callaghan-written affair did just fine in continuing the tradition and they did so despite the fact that the last few months has seen numerous news events regarding troubles on passenger planes from all over the globe which actually makes me relieved that this week’s episode, that may or may not have been influenced by some of those troubles, actually make it to air. We get a quick Herbert cameo (always a welcome sight to see one of my favorite characters of all-time) and a couple of cutaways gags to boot.
The B-plot premise was your very typical “Stewie starts a business and looks cute in a uniform” premise not unlike previous examples when we’ve seen Stewie get into like the coffee business, real estate, and a B&B, but when the episode teased a cameo by Dave Portnoy I got a bit more excited because I know producer Alec Sulkin is a fan of Dave and his One Bite Pizza Reviews, but for whatever reason, the producers weren’t able to get the REAL Dave to cameo as himself which would’ve made the cameo that much more special had it happen.
We only get a few cutaways gags this week and Peter, Meg, and Lois were largely absent this week safe for a few quick cameos. Would I call this week’s episode that featured common tropes the best examples of each? No. But, it’s a solid episode to throw on and check out.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
