English Dub Review: Dr. Stone – Science Future “Doctor vs. Doctor”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Senku’s team play into Gen’s ruse to get more information from Dr. Xeno.
OUR TAKE
This new and tense first encounter with Dr. Xeno continues as Senku and the crew try to get as much leverage as possible to learn what they’re dealing with. And it turns out they’re dealing with a bunch of full grown adults (who look about as young as them…or maybe they look as OLD as them?) who are just as, if not more knowledgeable than them and have greater technological resources. However, they lack knowledge of the Revival Fluid (I guess they all just spontaneously revived like Senku did) and based on how evil these guys look and act, it would probably be better that things stay that way for the time being. It brings me back to the beginnings of the series when Tsukasa was picking and choosing who would be revived and who would be shattered. HE turned around on that after a solid beating, but now we’re dealing with AMERICANS here, and just in case you haven’t been watching the news lately…yeah, we can’t really seem to be trusted with much lately, huh. And heck, god forbid they somehow get ahold of a functional Petrification Device. Basically, this seems like a pretty good start for what is apparently the final saga of episodes, with a villain who is a worse version of the very first antagonist.
We’re a third of the way through this batch of episodes now. The main threat for the time being has been identified, their edge on Senku and his team is made clear, they’re unique from other opponents in that they are both from before the petrification AND they’re knowledgeable in science AND have a guy who would very likely be an even match for Tsukasa even without his special wooden Iron Man armor. Basically, things are only going to keep escalating as we continue on, but the corn they need to grab for their next steps are just within their grasp, so the battle can’t end here. And I’m pretty sure there’s more that happened in this episode but I’m in a bit of a rush here so I gotta keep it moving. My point is that things are going pretty well for the show writing wise and I’m looking forward to seeing how things continue to snow ball into something even bigger! And if you’re reading this…please comment so I know you did! But also, stay tuned for more! Or don’t! Whatever!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
