English Dub Review: The Aristocrat’s Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far “To the Royal Capital”

Overview:

Cain makes his debut at the royal capital and he meets some new…friends.

Our Take:

This episodes takes place two years in the future and Cain is now 10 years old. He continues to be the overpowered protagonist who gets everything. He and his family are on their way to the royal capital, but there’s a monster battle on the way. Cain makes quick work of the monsters and saves the princess and the duke’s daughter.

These two, Telestia and Silk, immediately take a liking to Cain. They constantly cling to his side and he can never say no to them. The king promotes Cain to baron due to his heroic actions. However, he’s also backed into a corner and he becomes engaged to both Telestia and Silk.

I’m not too keen on this episode. Cain continues to be a boring isekai protagonist in my opinion. He has no room for growth because he’s already insanely strong. His being promoted at such a young age is clear proof of that. He could definitely improve when it comes to saying “no,” but I highly doubt that will happen.

Telestia and Silk are very annoying. They cling to Cain’s arms, they make his sleep in basically the same bed as them, and they give him no choice but to marry them. Again, Cain could just say no, but I still don’t care for their pushiness.

This episode does have some funny moments, such as Cain’s father’s reaction to the engagement. There are also some people who object to Cain’s promotion. They immediately get shut down by the king, but that could potentially lead to something at the very least.

It’s not a horrible episode, but it feels stale to me. It feels like something I’ve seen in other shows and it has nothing new or exciting to offer. It’s still early in the series, so hopefully things will improve on that front.
