English Dub Review: Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer “The Knight and the Pact”
Overview
Yuuhi returns home to face his grandfather. His sick grandfather reveals that his feelings have changed from what he thought in the past, and he apologizes for all that he’s done to Yuuhi. The sight leaves Yuuhi extremely distressed and angry. As he faces all that, Yuuhi is once more attacked by a new golem. This time he must fight it without any hope of rescue from Samidare…
Our Take
Out of begrudging obligation and encouragement from the princess, Yuuhi faced his grandfather once again. It’s clear that in a proverbial sense, those chains are still wrapped around Yuuhi even after separating himself from his grandfather. Seeing him again brought back all those dark feelings Yuuhi had buried over the past months. However, what his grandfather did after seeing Yuuhi for so many years was something not even he would fully expect…
We also learn about whatever happened to Yuuhi’s parents who in different ways are no longer part of his life which caused his grandfather to become so bitter towards humanity. Taking it out on Yuuhi wasn’t the right thing to do but I understand why he would feel that way. The chains were probably a twisted way of the grandfather showing Yuuhi he loved him, after being worn down from such a cruel world that took away two people he loved, it’s easy to assume that the reasoning behind his grandfather warding Yuuhi off from any kind of social life, was to protect him from that same fate…
Overall, this was quite an emotional episode. Yuuhi I think now can understand his grandfather better and while not completely forgiving him still on the same hand not want his grandfather to suffer and die right now. Samidare appearing in those dream sequences was funny. Keeping Yuuhi from going too far into despair. And the introduction Hangetsu and Ludo seem like an interesting pair. Though I’m not sure what their deal is yet, but they don’t seem to be messing around.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
