English Dub Review: Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest “Reunion”
Overview
Tio escapes the volcano alone and flies towards Ankaji. Meanwhile, Hajime and the others, still in the volcano, hatch a plan to escape the incoming lava without sacrificing any of their goals…
Our Take
This episode felt like a blue watery contrast to the hellish setting from the previous episode. Getting Tio out to transmit Hajime’s message to Kaori and Myu is probably the next best thing since the Grand Gruen Volcano incident trapped him and the others into a room containing space magic. At the very least, can always count on Hajime to having a Plan-B for situations like this with his magical vehicles that look like potential toys in the making.
With the whole gang later reunited in the vast ocean heading towards the Mer-Town of Erisen, the next important step is getting Myu back to her parents, most particularly her mother Remia who got injured while attempting to save Myu from getting kidnapped back in Season 1. At least this sort-of has a “happily ever after” ending that sees Hajime almost getting scouted by Remia, but that’s not without hilarious consequences, while it’s clear that a few classmates are figuring out that the kingdom is secretly up to no good with their relationship with the church once again, now that Hajime is branded as a heretic…
Overall, the show continues with it’s action along with the male-empowerment fantasy of a 17 year old dude with an edge-lord attitude being lusted after by these women who all have a connection with Hajime in different ways. Though It’s understandable that he wouldn’t want to just have a relationship with Myu’s mother which is respectful of him, it’s played for laughs. As for the “Church Conspiracy” stuff, I’m wondering what will be the payoff from that and if he’ll go on a murder spree against the corrupt church the same way Naofumi did in Shield Hero Season 1?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
