Adult Swim And Netflix Duel For Adult Animation Dominance Via 2021 Emmy Wins
The animated winners for the Creative Arts Emmys 2021 have been announced and Adult Swim and Netflix are once again battling for adult animation dominance. For Netflix, they get a win via Maya Rudolph’s win for Character Voice-Over and Adult Swim’s Primal for Outstanding Animated Program. Links to reviews can be seen below, and I can’t help but be a little upset about Jessica Walters’ loss as I know FXX was pushing hard for it, but alas was not meant to be.
Outstanding Animated Program
“Big Mouth”
“Bob’s Burgers”
“Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal”
“South Park: The Pandemic Special”
“The Simpsons”
Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance

Maya Rudolph, “Big Mouth”
Stacey Abrams, “black-ish: Election Special (Part 2)”
Tituss Burgess, “Central Park”

Seth MacFarlane, “Family Guy”

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
