Producers From “The Simpsons” ; Seth MacFarlane ; And More Comment On Alf Clausen Departure

But, some good news.

A day later, and the internet is in a fury over yesterday’s firing of Alf Clausen and his 35-piece orchestra from The Simpsons production team after close to 30 years of service. Major names on both sides of the equation have spoken out against the cuts including Seth MacFarlane, and a litany of music producers for various franchises. Apparently, it’s not all bad, Clausen will continue to have an ongoing role at The Simpsons, but we don’t know what that is yet.

Deadline has reported on a statement coming on behalf of The Simpsons producers that reads as so:

“We tremendously value Alf Clausen’s contributions to the Simpsons and he will continue to have an ongoing role in the show,” producers said in a statement provided to Deadline. “We remain committed to the finest in music for the Simpsons, absolutely including orchestral. This is the part where we would make a joke but neither Alf’s work nor the music of the Simpsons is treated as anything but seriously by us.”

Below are industry’s voices commenting on the split:
