Starburns Industries’ ‘RICK AND MORTY’ GETS FULL SEASON PICK-UP FROM ADULT SWIM TO AIR IN 2014
And BOOM just like that two stories about pickups, not bad for a Monday right? At the Upfront 2012 event for Adult Swim it was announced that Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s new series Rick and Morty was on the table and just the other day it got its confirmation for pickup on the greatest PR agency on the planet….Twitter! That’s right, according to the Twitter handles of both Starburns and Justin Roiland, Rick and Morty has gotten a full season order of about 10 half-hour episodes set to air in 2014.
Rick and Morty is an animated series somewhat inspired by the popular characters from Back to the Future namely Doc and Marty which an Adult Swim press release stating “A genius inventor grandfather and his less than genius grandson, and the journeys in life they share.” Sounds pretty bad ass, and this isn’t Dan Harmon’s(Community) first foray into the animated world as before he got the boot as the showrunner, Community aired a bunch of animated episodes(of which we have reviewed) and on top of that Starburns is the studio behind the successfully-funded Anomalisa and the hit Dino produced series’ Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole and Beforel Orel special set to debut next month. NOBODY covers Adult Swim like we do, so keep it locked here as we hear more because we are the #1 Authority on all things Adult Swim.
