John “On The Spot”: #5 of Animated Shows that Should Come Back

So yea, Arrested Development is coming back. I think its ironic that everyone is stoked for a show that used to be on, but no one watched but somehow became inspired to watch it on Netflix to warrant a return. Strange…anywho the creator of that show along with a majority of the Arrested cast were at once point in a show called “Sit Down, Shut Up”. Yet, another show that had Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and was created by Mitchell Hurwitz that no one watched…so what says this can’t come back?

This show never got a chance to catch on in my opinion and was a victim of poor time slots. First, it came on @830 on Sunday nights after the Simpsons. Then they moved it to 7pm…why is this bad? If anyone watches Fox they know that typically they have football on Sundays @ 4pm and the games typically end at 730p, giving Sit Down, Shut Up time only to air in the West Coast market. After which, they thought it was a great idea to put the show on late night Saturdays where it would later go to die.

What I liked most about the show was how it was produced. It was a 2d animated series in front of a 3D environment( think Avatar but if the characters were not in 3D) with a great cast and jokes that were probably better suited for an MTV audience then a Fox (after Simpsons) audience. Kudos goes to Comedy Central, who kind of gave it a shot but it didn’t get much advertising behind it( I don’t remember seeing an ad for it).
